Neil B. Placek, 87, Noblesville, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2008 at Riverview Hospital. He was born June 28, 1921 in Hershey, Nebraska to Fred and Bess Placek.
Neil was a veteran of WWII. He was a construction superintendent and inspector; and a member of First Christian Church in Noblesville.
He was a 50-year member of the Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine and captain of the Murat Shrine Horse Patrol. He received the award of Sagamore of the Wabash in 1983.
He loved and enjoyed his family, friends, organizations and working with horses.
In addition to his wife, Deniese, of 48 years; he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law,
Bruce & Karen Placek; grandson, Andrew Placek; granddaughters, Kimberly Placek & Shannon Dimock; two great-granddaughters; sister, Ardes Karasek; stepsons, Scott Jaimet & Bruce Jaimet; step-granddaughter, Jodie Jaimet; and several nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Steward Eugene Placek; two sisters; and one brother.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00PM on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home in Noblesville, with Christina Gangwer officiating. A Masonic service will follow the memorial service.
