Norman S. Schultz, 74, of Noblesville, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2013 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. He was born on November 11, 1938 to Norman H. and Margaret (Myklebust) Schultz in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Norman grew up in Alexandria, Indiana, graduating from Alexandria High School in 1957, and served as Class President. He attended General Motors Institute (Kettering University) and graduated with a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering Degree in 1961.
He was employed 35 years by General Motors, Delco-Remy & Delco-Battery. He worked in Anderson, Indiana, and New Brunswick, New Jersey. Upon retirement from GM, he worked for Best Lock for 7 years.
He was a member of Gamma Mu Tau Fraternity, and an Eagle Scout. He was a 50 year member of the Alexandria Masonic Lodge/32nd Degree; Murat Shrine of Indianapolis, and Indianapolis Valley of the Scottish Rite. He also belonged to the East Brunswick, NJ BPOE #2370, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Noblesville.
He is survived by his wife, Pat (Grandison) Schultz, whom he married May 10, 1969; daughter, Debbie (Todd) De Jong; two granddaughters, Delaney and Alexis De Jong; mother-in-law, Mary V. Grandison; two brother-in-laws, Mike (Jayne) Grandison, and Tim Grandison.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by father-in-law, Jack Grandison.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, March 15, 2013, at First United Methodist Church, 2051 Monument Street, in Noblesville with Pastor Dick Judson officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday March 14, 2013 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Randall and Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, and also 10:30 AM, Friday, immediately prior to service at First United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society; First United Methodist Church, or Shriner's Hospital for Children.
