Otto J. Petr, 91, of Noblesville, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2013. He was born in Chicago on December 2, 1921 to Otto and Rose Petr.
Otto married Alice Suda in 1944. They had been neighbors in Berwyn, IL, and were classmates and friends throughout childhood and adolescence. They had celebrated 68 years of marriage before Alice preceded Otto in death in April.
Otto was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and served as a B-17 bomber pilot during World War II. For 33 years he was a printing pressman, pressroom superintendent and corporate scheduler for Rand McNally & Co.
Otto is survived by his three children, Otto J. Petr III of Naples, FL, Leslie S. Corcoran of Noblesville, and John J. Petr of Indianapolis; five grandchildren, David and Susan Petr; Wiley, Kevin and Conor Corcoran; six great-grandchildren, Jack, Ben, Olivia and Ava Petr; Shelby and Kaitlyn Corcoran; and sister, Ruth (Edward) Farr.
Services will be held at 11:00 this Saturday, September 28, at Svec & Sons Funeral Home, 6227 W. Cermak Rd., Berwyn, IL 60402, with a short calling beginning at 10:30. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Forest Park, IL.
