Ova Gibbs was 84 years old. He was born in Jackson County Indiana on August 28, 1924 to Mr. Charles R. Gibbs and Mrs. Gladys O. Hiatt-Gibbs. Ova was a Korean War Veteran. He retired from Firestone after 34 ½ years in 1981. He also worked part-time as a farmer (something he enjoyed very much), and as a security guard for Channel 13. He was also a member of the VFW. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, visiting his family members, gardening, puzzle books, and reading.
He was preceded in death by; (father) Charles Robert Gibbs, (mother) Gladys Opal Hiatt-Gibbs, (son) Larry Wayne Gibbs, and (great-grandson) Omarion Scott.
His survivors are (wife) Lillian J. Sexton-Gibbs of Noblesville, (son) Jerry Gibbs, (daughters) Debbie A. Gibbs-Scott and Mary J. Gibbs-Schippers both of Noblesville, and (son) Terry L. Gibbs of Noblesville. He had five grandchildren; Samuel Gibbs and Amanda Blount of Mississippi, Tosha N. Gibbs-Hefner and husband Ted Hefner, Michael J. Scott, and April L. Schippers all of Noblesville. He had five great-grandchildren; Logan and Kaleb Hefner, Kenzie and Haley Barker, and Ashton Scott.
He will be missed greatly by us ALL.
Services will be held at 10:30AM on Wednesday, June 2 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home in Noblesville. Friends may call from 4:00 - 8:00PM on Tuesday, June 1 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
