Patricia Ann (Shishkoff) Capella entered eternal life on April 14, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. Her spirit is carried on by her devoted husband, John N. Capella and her three children John William Capella (wife Anne and children John Anthony & Nick); Janice Specht (husband John); and Lisa McDonald (husband Rich and children Christi & Marissa). Her spirit also continues to live within her two cherished sisters, Judy (Walt) Ickes and Joan (Nick) Raphael; and the many in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and family too numerous to list but not forgotten.
We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Pat during her 80 years, among them: greet everyone with a smile and to always have a kind word to say. Her love was ever-present and unconditional. Her house was truly a home filled with love and warmth. When anyone dropped by the house, she made them feel like they were the most important person in her life. As a welcoming gesture, she would make numerous attempts to offer food - a banana, a piece of cheese, a sandwich or when all else failed, a Klondike bar. She knew how to get the job done!
Pat lived for her family and she loved to attend to everyone's various needs throughout the years. Unselfishly and true to form, she would cook all of our favorite foods even when her own dietary restrictions wouldn't allow her to eat them. She was a talented artist who loved to paint and her artwork can be seen throughout the house. She was an active bridge player and loved her various card clubs and welcome wagon club, as each group of friends were very dear to her and provided her with so many good times.
Perhaps the most important lesson that Pat imparted to us was that life should be lived in a positive and joyful way. She was kind-hearted, and always had a great uplifting attitude. As a cancer survivor, she was thankful for the extra time she was given and no matter how she felt physically, she always presented a happy and cheerful disposition. She delighted in the simple things in life and she treasured any activity that involved her grandchildren - like playing a game of slap jack or catching fire flies in glass jars.
Patricia Ann (Shishkoff) Capella was a devoted wife of almost 60 years. Most of all, she loved her entire family dearly. We will miss her terribly, but we find comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her beloved Mother (Lavonne) and Father (Blagoy).
