Patricia Hoyte

Patricia Hoyte, a long-time resident of the Fishers area, passed away Thursday the 21st of November, 2019 at Clearvista Lake Health Campus after a long battle with cancer.

Born in 1948 in Flint, MI, Ms. Hoyte graduated from Flint Southwestern High School in 1966 and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Michigan in 1970. She taught English for several years. Later in life, she worked at Forum Credit Union as a teller and trainer for about a decade. She made many dear friends while working there.

She had many hobbies and interests. She loved listening to big-band music, watching classic movies, assembling puzzles, and playing card and board games. As a member of Beef and Boards, she delighted in attending musicals and plays. She was also a member of Hoosier Feathered Friends, where she enjoyed learning more about exotic birds. Some of her closest friends were made through the Senior Center in Noblesville, playing mahjong, euchre, dominos, hand and foot, gin rummy, and somba.

She devoted much of her life to being an amazing, loving, and kind-hearted stay-at-home mom. Always involved in her daughters’ interests and activities, she volunteered her time with the PTA, Brownies, and Girl Scouts, and also enjoyed attending her daughters’ sporting events. She continually displayed resiliency as the family moved every several years around the country. Friendly and gracious, she easily and immediately made friends wherever she called home. She was a wonderful example to her daughters, showing them how to be a good friend, sister, wife, mother, and human being all the while beaming with pride and bursting with unconditional love. Originally diagnosed with uterine cancer in 2012, she spent the last 2 1/2 years bravely battling its fierce reoccurrence and is now at peace in heaven with her mother, father, and sister.

She was sweet and fun-loving, and always displayed a positive attitude. She did not want a formal service, but instead wanted to be remembered with a Celebration of Life. She was cremated and her wish was for her family to take her remains to Hawaii and spread them in the ocean. We plan to do this in May 2020.

She is survived by her oldest daughter, Tracy Davis, son-in-law, Paul, and grandsons, Quinn and Patrick; her youngest daughter, Alisha Howard, son-in-law, William, granddaughter, Chloe, and great-grandson, TJ; and her younger brother, Jim Harris and sister-in-law, Sue.
