Peggy grew up in Bunker Hill, IN. She graduated from Maconaquah HS (1975) and Purdue University (1979) with a BS in management. Peggy was an avid Purdue fan and forever the "fabulous sports babe". She was a member of White River Christian Church for 29 years were she served and led countless Bible studies, children, student, and adult ministry ventures. She was a member and officer of the PEO Sorority since November 11, 1991.  Peggy and Dave were so proud to have visited all 50 states and 20 countries including Israel, England, Scotland, Poland, and many others on mission trips. Her greatest accomplishment however, was that of a homemaker.  She worked as a pharmaceutical sales representative for GlaxoSmithKline for over 20 years, and retired in 2015.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years (2/9/19), David Smiley; daughter, Amanda Louise (Andrew) Davis; son, Andrew Joseph (Catherine) Smiley; grandsons, Ethan David and Henry Ross; siblings, Anita Sue Miles, Richard (Elizabeth) Miles, Gene (Cheryl) Miles, and Jane (Charles) Marquis; four nieces and six nephews.
