Peter D. "Pete" Lintzenich

Peter D. Lintzenich, 78, of Westfield, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2016 at his home. He was born on January 18, 1938 to Joseph "Bud" and Josephine (Henn) Lintzenich in Evansville, Indiana.
Pete graduated from Evansville University in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering. He worked five years for Whirlpool Industries in Evansville, IN and 35 years with Delco Electronics in Kokomo, IN and Milford, MI as a project engineer and Michigan resident manager. Pete retired from the automotive industry in 1997, but returned to work for 15 years with The Trim Wright, his son's contracting business. He retired from The Trim Wright in April 2016 to spend more time reading and working in the gardens around the house. In Kokomo, Pete was active with the Lions Club at the Taylor Community School System. As a devout Catholic, he was active at his parishes in both Indiana and Michigan, including serving as the parish building representative during the building of the new church, teaching religious education, ministering to couples in pre-Cana, and many other programs. In retirement, Pete continued to enjoy spending time giving back to his parishes as well as many other community organizations that his children and grandchildren were involved in, such as the local Boy Scout troop and the marching band. He enjoyed singing, and could be heard everywhere from around the house to the Christmas men's choir at church.
Pete is survived by his children and their spouses, Joseph (Karla) Lintzenich, Daniel (Stacy) Lintzenich, Laura (Stephen) Zachar, Robert Lintzenich, and Barbara Henry. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Stephanie Zachar, Andrew Zachar, Danielle (Quentin) Phillips, Katheryn Scharf, Michael (Ami) Zachar, Devin Lintzenich, Erin Lintzenich, Jessica Zachar, Rebecca Scharf, Peter Lintzenich, Nicklaus Scharf, and Barbara Zachar; and great-grandchildren, Alexander Yanok, Jaxon Phillips, and Austin Grey Phillips.
In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Joanne Cecile (Mooney) Lintzenich, as well as a brother, sister, and son-in-law.
