Phyllis W. Green, 87, of Noblesville, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Prairie Lakes Health Campus in Noblesville. She was born on August 1, 1924 to Howard and Greta (Sherwood) Whitcomb in Noblesville.
Phyllis graduated from Noblesville High School and DePauw University where she was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. She was an active member of Noblesville First United Methodist Church and Daughters of the American Revolution. Additionally, Phyllis was involved in many philanthropic endeavors including: past President Tri Kappa and co-founder Bridge-A-Rama (50+ yrs), Former Board Member of Legacy Fund, Charter Member and past President of Riverview Hospital Auxiliary, Charter Member Noblesville Boys and Girls Club Foundation, and Founder of Noblesville Boys and Girls Club Auxiliary and co-founder of annual Auction (25+ yrs).
She is survived by her sons, John W. (Linda) Green, and Kurt J. (Roni) Green; grandchildren, Kathryn A. Green of Hermosa Beach, CA, Thomas M. Green of Carmel, IN, Mackenzie A. (Dustin) Hackleman of Westfield, IN, and Adam C. Green of Chicago, IL; and a sister, Martha (Owen) Floyd of Salem, SC.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James L. Green in 2004.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 4, 2011 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, Noblesville. Funeral and inurnment will be private.
