Phyllis J. Whaley

Phyllis J. Whaley, 94, formerly of Brook, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at The Waters of Tipton.  She was born on March 12, 1929 to Henry Francis and Margaret Ellen (Simons) Carroll in Brook, Indiana.

Phyllis was a homemaker who loved to cook, sew, and help on the family farm.  She married Maurice D. Whaley on August 14, 1949.  Phyllis loved her family and had a gift for looking after them. She was a member of Psi Iota Xi, a philanthropic sorority, and of the United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children, Debbie (Avery) Swiderek, Susan (Rick) Stenz, Lynn Wilfong, Jeff (Doreen) Whaley, and Becky (Mark) Zerr; siblings, Juanita Antcliff, Neil Carroll, and Nancy Sheffer; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, Jerry Carroll and Dean Carroll; and son-in-law, Denny Wilfong.

Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road in Noblesville.  Visitation will be from 11:00 am to the time of service at the funeral home.  A graveside service will be at Riverside Cemetery in Brook, Indiana at a later date.
