Quin Childers

Quin Childers, 43, of Greenwood, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on December 14, 1980 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

In high school, Quin played soccer on the boys’ team as they didn’t have a girls’ team at her small school.  She also played softball and was on the yearbook and newspaper staff.  Quin was a first-generation college graduate, and her studies were focused on English and journalism.  Education was a real priority; she had always been a dedicated, hardworking student.

Quin was a ML/ESL multi-language elementary teacher, and loved teaching and her students. She was a member of Emmanuel Church of Greenwood. Quin enjoyed traveling; she was always ready for new adventures. She was very creative, generous and kind. Quin loved board games and going to concerts. She had a great sense of humor; her smiles and dimples will be missed by all who knew her. Most of all, Quin loved her family.

She is survived by her husband, Rick Childers; mother, Debbie Gowan McCormick; son, Connor Fratzke; step-son, Chase Childers; grandparents, Charles & Denise Gowan; brother, Austin McCormick; aunts, Darlene (Dana) Trentman, Sharon Dwigans Hanner, and Kelly Cowan; uncles, John Dwigans and Andy Gowan; mother-in-law, Giselle Childers; brother-in-law, Corky (Debbie) Harris; as well as many nieces, nephews & cousins.

Quin was preceded in death by her father, Barry Dwigans; grandfather, Charles Wayne Dwigans; grandmother, Carolyn Dwigans; and uncle, Randy Gowan.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, with services at 4:00 pm, on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville.
