NOBLESVILLE, IN - Ralph Ellsworth Blazier, 81, formerly of Noblesville, died Thursday, March 20, 2008, at his home in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born July 3, 1926, in Westfield, the Son of Beulah Mae (Phelps) Blazier and Joseph Wayman Blazier. Ralph attended Westfield and Carmel Schools. At the age of 14 he contracted Tuberculosis and became a patient of Rockville Infirmary until he was 19. He had been a member of First Southern Baptist Church of Paradise Valley in Phoenix for the last 17 years.
Ralph was married to Doris Christine (Bedel) Blazier, formerly of Carmel, on December 8, 1990, who survives him in Phoenix, Arizona. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce & Cecilia Blazier of Brownsburg, Daniel & Jayne Blazier, and two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann (Felton) & Kevin Bentley, Wendy & Kevin Mason all of Noblesville, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, step-daughters Kitty McConnell, Shirley Jones, Nancy Lewallen, one step-son, Gary Wharton, several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren, all residing in Arizona.
His first wife, Virginia Ruth (Carey) Blazier preceded him in death March 27, 2006. A former wife Betty (Risner) (Campbell) Blazier survives in Noblesville.
Also surviving him is one sister Florence Irene (Blazier) Foland of Westfield and one brother John Russell Blazier of Pendleton. He was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Elizabeth (Blazier) Smith, and four brothers, Willard Arriel Blazier, Joseph Nelson Blazier, Bennett Larue Blazier, and Wayman Junior Blazier.
Calling will be Sunday, March 30, 2008, from 2:00 - 5:00PM at Randall and Roberts Funeral Home in Noblesville. Services will be at 5:00PM following visitation, also at Randall and Roberts. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer Foundation of America.
