Raymond Motluck, 70, of Noblesville, passed away on the morning of Monday, January 11, 2016. He was born on December 20, 1945 to John and Eugenia Motluck in Neudorf, Germany.
Ray entered the USA with his parents in May, 1949, and graduated from Lane Technical High School in Chicago. He obtained US citizenship at age 17 when entering the University of Illinois, where he received a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1968. Ray received a Master's degree from Northwestern University in 1970. He joined Bell Telephone Labs of Naperville, IL, in February, 1968, transferred to Indianapolis in 1982, and retired February, 1998, from Lucent Technologies. His work projects included early electronics telephone switching systems, answering systems for consumer sales, and product design & management, taking him all across the US and to many foreign factories around the world. Ray was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church, as well as Pi Tau Sigma and Tau Beta Pi honor societies. He enjoyed tennis, fishing, camping, hunting, and canoeing. Ray was very active in the Boy Scouts of America, serving as charter representative and committee chairman of Troop 183 in Noblesville, IN. He also participated in numerous scout camping trips, and enjoyed interacting with and helping scouts advance.
Ray is survived by his wife, Carol A. Fowler/Motluck; mother, Eugenia Motluck; son, Randall R. (Susan) Motluck; step-son, Brad Fowler; sister, Marsha (Zoran) Milenkovich; niece, Nicole (Brian) DeGuire; and grandson, Finn Motluck.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-son, Brian Fowler.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 pm Noon on Saturday, January 23, 2016, at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, 444 South Harbour Drive, Noblesville, with visitation at 11:00 am. Entombment will be at a later date in Elmwood Cemetery, River Grove, Illinois.
