Ret. Judge Donald Eugene Foulke, 90, Carmel, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 in Florida. He was born on March 16, 1922 to Herbert and Stella (Grimes) Foulke in Cicero, Indiana.
Donald was a retired Hamilton County Judge. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy and was a WWII & Korean War veteran. Donald completed his pre-law studies at Butler University and was a 1954 graduate of Indiana University Law School. He was appointed to the bench of Hamilton Superior Court No. 1 in July of 1976 by Governor Otis Bowen, replacing then-Judge Sue Shields, who had been appointed to the Indiana Court of Appeals. Judge Foulke served the balance of Judge Shields' term and was then elected to serve two more terms as Judge for Superior Court No. 1, where he heard and ruled on a variety of cases involving criminal, civil, and probate matters. He officially retired in 1994, but continued to hear a limited number of cases on a part-time basis as a Senior Judge for Judge Steven Nation until 2007.
He is survived by his wife, Rosanne Foulke; son, Donald (Linda) Foulke Jr.; grandchildren, Ben (Rosie) Foulke and Erika (Aaron) Martin; and great-grandchildren, Owen, Sophie & Madelyn Martin and Sam, Max & Zoe Foulke.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Doyle Foulke.
Services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, January 28, 2013, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street in Noblesville, with Pastor Robert Stubbs officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, January 27, 2013 from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hamilton Memorial Park Cemetery in Westfield.
