Rev. Charles Edwin Voit Jr., 64, Noblesville, passed away Friday, November 20, 2009 in Noblesville. He was born July 3, 1945 in Louisville, Kentucky to Charles Edwin and Anna Louise (Markwell) Voit Sr..
After graduation from High School Charles went on to graduate from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio and Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, PA. He was ordained into ministry in August of 1971 at Christ Lutheran Church in Jeffersontown, KY. He served in several churches including St. Michaels Lutheran Church & Faith United Lutheran Church, both in Richmond, IN, Faith Trinity United Methodist Church in Richmond, Indiana, Boston United Methodist Church in Boston, IN, Jacobs Chapel United Methodist Church in New Albany, IN and Bethlehem United Methodist Church in Noblesville, IN. He was also a member of Mystic Tie Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite in Indianapolis.
Charles had a passion for woodworking which was mirrored in the wood pieces he crafted. He was a strong, patient man with a friendly smile which was enhanced by his love of the Bible. Rev. Charles loved teaching Gods word, not preaching the word.
He is survived by wife, Candy (Evans) Voit of Noblesville, IN; mother, Anna Louise (Markwell) Voit of Louisville, KY; sons, Chad Brandenburg (wife Estacia) of Fishers, IN, Ben David Voit (Wife Angie) of Ft. Meyers, FL, & Jason Matthew Voit of Richmond, IN; sisters, Bonnie L Clark of Louisville, KY, Diane M. Taylor of Louisville, KY, & Vickie L. Hale of Louisville, KY; granddaughter, Norah Brandenburg; grandson, Chandler Voit; and several nieces, nephews and special friends.
He is preceded in death by his father.
Services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home in Noblesville, with Rev. Bill Schwein & Rev. Ann Glass officiating. Friends may call Friday, November 27, 3:00 - 8:00PM at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held at 8:00PM immediately following visitation.
