Richard “Dick” Beecher, 81, of Noblesville, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Prairie Lakes Health Campus. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Richard and Elizabeth (Miller) Beecher. Though he spent most of his life in Indiana, he remained a Buckeye through and through.
Dick proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was also a dedicated reserve police officer with the Carmel Police Department back when Carmel was a small town with only one stoplight. A natural salesman, he spent many years working in electrical component sales for Thomas and Betts and later with Interface Flooring Systems.
Dick had a deep passion for wine and turned that passion into a thriving business. With his wife, Christe, they owned and operated Carroll Company, a wine and spirits distributor, for 15 years. He was well known for his signature “bottomless black wine bag,” always ready to share a great bottle and a story. Outside of work, he enjoyed woodworking and the freedom of the open road on his motorcycle.
Dick is survived by his wife, Christe Beecher; his daughters, Amy (Sean) Johnson and Molly (John) Guedel; and his grandchildren, Erin Oatey, Rachel Johnson, and Caleb Johnson.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Contributions in his honor can be made to the Humane Society for Hamilton County, 10501 Hague Road, Fishers, IN 46038 (www.hamiltonhumane.com).
A celebration of life will follow at a later date.
