Richard "Dick" Borst, 89, of Fortville, passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at Compassus Hospice in Indianapolis. He was born on June 21, 1933 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Dick was a graduate of Shortridge High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired after 33 years as a Sears appliance salesman. Dick was a member of New Hope Presbyterian Church, the Fortville Masonic Lodge #207, Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine, Noblesville American Legion, and the Fortville VFW. He loved to fish and hunt.
Dick is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Borst; daughters, Susan Hinds and Linda (Kip) Lohmiller; sons, James (Kimberly) Borst and Robert (Jaylene) Borst; 9 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Dick was preceded in death by his father, Frank Borst; mother, Ionia C. Lee; daughter, Joyce Ann Borst; and grandson, Benjamin Patrick Towle.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with Masonic Services beginning at 7:30 pm, on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, in Fishers. Services will be held at Noon, with an additional visitation beginning at 11:00 am, on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the funeral home, with Rev. Kemper Huber officiating. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis.
