Richard E. Edwards, 87, of Noblesville, passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at his home.  He was born on August 20, 1930 to Virgil and Thelma (Crouch) Edwards in Covington, Kentucky.
Richard proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, and graduated from the University of Kentucky.  He worked as a salesman and regional supervisor for Texaco, and then worked for Barton Chemical in Chicago.  Richard was an avid golfer who played until he was unable.  He loved tennis and all sports, and followed the U of K Wildcats.  Richard loved working puzzles, wrote poetry, and simply enjoyed life.  Most of all, he was a loving father.
Richard is survived by his wife, Garnet Edwards; and son, Richard W. Edwards.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucretia Gale (Warren) Edwards; infant son, Greg Edwards; and siblings, Betty Jane, Donald Ray and Mel.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road in Noblesville, with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Rev. Stanley R. Sutton will officiate.  Entombment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
