Richard Eldon Gordon

Richard Eldon Gordon, 89, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024. Born on March 12, 1935, Richard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, whose legacy of kindness and generosity touched everyone who knew him.

Richard was married to the love of his life, Margaret, for 60 wonderful years. Together, they raised six children: Richard Jr., Theresa, Linda, Sylvia, Franklin, and Rebecca. He was also blessed with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought him immense pride and joy.

A veteran of the United States Air National Guard, Richard lived a life dedicated to service, both to his country and his community. He was an entrepreneur at heart, with ventures spanning the restaurant business, insurance, marketing, self-storage, land development, and residential and commercial property management. Richard’s passion for his work was evident, and he was admired as a leader by the many employees who worked alongside him.

Beyond his professional life, Richard was a philanthropist, generously supporting organizations such as Riverview Hospital, the Noblesville Boys and Girls Club, and the Noblesville Bridge of Flowers. He was also an avid golfer, fisherman, and basketball enthusiast, finding joy in both the games he played and those he watched, especially when his children and grandchildren were involved.

Richard will be remembered for his infectious positivity, unwavering work ethic, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, wisdom, and an enduring example of what it means to live a full and meaningful life.

In addition to his wife, Margaret, children, and grandchildren, Richard is survived by his brother Larry Gordon (Mary Harder), and sisters Phyllis Lampe (Ronald Lampe), and Connie Bechman (Terry Bechman). Preceded in death by his mother and father, Pete and Edna May Gordon.

A celebration of Richard’s life will be held on June 28th, 2025 from Noon to 5pm at Harbour Trees Golf Club, 333 Regents Park Lane, Noblesville, IN 46062.
