Richard "Dick" Lewis, 74, of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at home, surrounded by his family. He was born on January 7, 1939 to Eldon and Lucille (Motz) Lewis in Niles, Michigan.
Dick was the Founder, President & CEO of a very successful manufacturing business, Createc Corporation, which was started in Portland, Indiana and later moved to Indianapolis. He was a graduate of Benton Harbor High School; and had lived in St. Joseph, MI before moving to Indiana in 1975. He was an accomplished drummer; had a passion for collecting cars; and enjoyed traveling.
He is survived by daughter, Debbie (Hal) Ecksten; son, Alan (Charlotte) Lewis; four grandchildren, Aaron Overstreet, Beau Ecksten, Andy and Alexis Lewis; sister, Betty (Walter) Yauch; brother, Jack (Angie) Lewis; and loving companion, Jean Ann Lewis and her daughter, Amanda Brophy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Linda A. Lewis.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Matthew Priddy with Priority Physicians Group and St. Vincent Hospice Care for all their kindness and care.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road in Fishers, with visitation beginning at 12:00 noon immediately prior to the service. Rev. Stanley R. Sutton will officiate. Cremation was chosen.
