Richard A. Merrill, 77, Noblesville, passed away Saturday, February 2, 2008 at Edgewater Woods in Anderson. He was born June 25, 1930 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Esther (Wilson) and Everett Merrill.
Richard had been employed at Delco Remy for 42 1/2 years, retiring in 1995. After retirement, he had worked a Integrator.com. He had been in the U.S. Navy Reserves for 16 years and was a member of UAW. He graduated from Anderson High School in 1949 and married Peggy on August 7, 1976.
In addition to his wife, Peggy, he is survived by son, Richard Dennis (& wife Amber) Merrill of Anderson; daughter, Tamara Kay Merrill of Anderson; daughter, Kristi Jo (& husband Pete) Craib of Alexandria; brother, Robert Eugene (& wife Carolyn) Merrill of Anderson; sister, Phyllis (& husband Jesse) Faust of Anderson; step-son, Albert Dean Sherrill; step-daughter, Rebecca Sue (& husband Chuck) Morris of Noblesville; step-daughter, Lou Ann (& husband Kenny) Clark of Lapel; step-son, Alan Dale (& wife Audrey) Sherrill of Appleton, WI; aunt, Mary Wilson of Sheridan; extended family, Lori Vandall of Anderson; 12 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by stepmother, Mae Merrill.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home in Noblesville, with Pastor Steve Fair, officiating. Friends may call Wednesday, February 6, 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Zimmer Cemetery in Noblesville.
