Richard "Bruce" Moore
October 1, 1948 – February 14, 2025
Richard Bruce Moore, lovingly known as Bruce, passed away on February 14, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on October 1, 1948, in Akron, Ohio, he was the youngest of three children to Margaret and Bill Moore.
Bruce was an accomplished attorney for Simon Property Group until his retirement, when he pursued his passion for watercolor painting. He became a celebrated artist, known for his striking abstract watercolors, which he sold from his studio at the historic Stutz Building in downtown Indianapolis. His work was widely admired, earning him numerous awards and the honor of having six of his pieces featured in American Art Collector.
In addition to his artistic talents, Bruce was a gifted piano player who found joy in music throughout his life. He was always a hard worker, dedicating himself fully to every endeavor, whether in his legal career, his art, or providing for his family. His drive and dedication were an inspiration to those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Bill Moore; his sister, Margie Moore; and his ex-wife, Gailynn Moore. He leaves behind his brother, Don Moore; his two daughters, Kristen Braiman and Lauren Helder; their spouses, Dan Braiman and David Helder; his four cherished grandchildren, Guenwhyvar Braiman, Gavin Braiman, Gabriel Helder, and Griffin Helder; and ex-wife Sally Moore.
Bruce will be remembered for his sharp intellect, deep empathy, and warm sense of humor. He had a way of making people laugh and feel at ease, and he cared deeply about his family and the well-being of those around him. His presence brought joy to many, and his absence will be felt profoundly by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm, with a memorial service at 4:00 pm, on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, in Fishers. Rev. Stanley R. Sutton will officiate.
