Richard Wilson

Richard John Wilson (Dick), was born in Owatonna, Minnesota on June 22, 1946, son of Catherine Lambert Wilson and John Wilson.
His young life was spent in Glencoe, Minnesota and West Concord, Minnesota. As a young man, he began a 28 year career with Target Stores. During his tenure he held many positions within the organization, and ultimately retired as Senior Vice-President. He was a leader in the philanthropic community during this long career, supporting and serving many organizations including the Julian Center, United Way, Indianapolis Repertory Theatre, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and the Indiana Retail Council. His leadership and uncompromising spirit drove his success in all aspects of his responsibilities.
His love of retail and business acumen led him to develop a private company, Indianapolis Soft Water Service, which is a strong local business that thrives today.
He loved boating, auto racing, playing the drums and his Labrador, Liberty. He will be remembered for his warm hospitality, his genuine respect for "the guy doing all the work" and his love of spending time with family and friends. Peace be with you.
A Prayer Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 5, 2012, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville, with Rev. Tom Metzger officiating. Visitation will begin at the end of the prayer service lasting until 5:00 pm at the funeral home.
