Robert Frederick "Bob" Butler

Bob Butler, 88, of Noblesville, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Riverwalk Commons in Noblesville. He was born on January 21, 1927 to Fred and Evelyn (Jones) Butler in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Bob graduated from Tech High School in Indianapolis, and joined the United States Army in 1945. He served with the Fifth Infantry Division until it was decommissioned; then into the Third Infantry Division at Camp Campbell, KY, until his discharge in October 1946. Bob received a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from Purdue in 1949, and was employed as a founding partner of Butler, Fairman and Seufert, Inc. consulting engineers, retiring in 1989. He married Helen L. Hopper on October 12, 1952, and was a member of The Service Club of Indianapolis, Murat Temple, Scottish Rite, Englewood Lodge #715 F&AM, Elks Lodge BPOE in Punta Gorda, FL, Harbour Trees Golf Club, John Purdue Club, and the American Society of Civil Engineers. Bob enjoyed playing golf, and was an avid sports fan, especially for the Indianapolis teams of the Colts, the Indians, and the Pacers.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen Butler; daughter, Elaine (Sean) O'Donnell; two grandchildren, Erin & Ryan O'Donnell; and brother, Richard (Lois) Butler.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his son, Jack Butler, in 2012.
Services will be held at 12:00 pm Noon on Friday, October 16, 2015, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville, with visitation from 11:00 am to the time of service. Following the service will be a meal at Harbour Trees Golf Course Club House. Entombment will be in Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
