Robert "Bob" Cusack passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville, Indiana at the age of 95. He was born on April 4, 1921 to Walter and Helen Cusack in Indianapolis, IN.
A veteran of WWII, Dr. Cusack served as a combat medic in the 86th Infantry Division in the European Theater. He was awarded a Bronze Star. In the immediate post-war months, his division served in the Philippines. Dr. Cusack graduated from Park Preparatory School and continued his education at Indiana University in the School of Medicine, receiving his MD degree in 1949. Upon moving to California in 1952, he practiced family medicine in San Fernando Valley for seven years before joining and becoming a partner in Southern California Kaiser-Permanente Medical Group, retiring in 1984. He and his wife, Valerie, moved to Pismo Beach in 1989, and have resided in Noblesville since 2015.
Dr. Cusack is survived by his wife of 63 years, Valerie G. Cusack of Noblesville; sister, Helen Turk of Florida; daughter, Carla Bowman (husband Bill) of Noblesville; four grandchildren, Teresa, Jenni, Christy, and Scott; and thirteen great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John M. Cusack of Fort Lauderdale, FL.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Refuge Christian Church, 11772 East 196th Street, Noblesville, and will be officiated by Rev. Stanley R. Sutton. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to the time of service.
