Robert Lynn “Bob” Goodwin, Jr., 72, of Noblesville, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on June 18, 1950 to Robert and Esther (McMahon) Goodwin in Noblesville, Indiana.
Bob, a 1969 Noblesville High School graduate, earned a DVM from Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. He was an active equine veterinarian with special interests in race horses and equine breeding.
He is survived by his sisters, Pat (Steve) Heiny and Stephanie McDonald; and his nieces and nephews, Melissa McDonald, Curtis Heiny, Koren Heiny, and Ryan (Janelle) McDonald. His great niece, Blake McDonald, and great nephews, Brice McDonald, Oakley McDonald, and Masson Heiny all looked forward to Uncle Bob’s pumpkin patch where they could pick out their Jack O’Lanterns. Bob’s mush and strawberry jam, as well as his coin collecting knowledge were legendary and shared widely. Bob is also survived by many McMahon and Goodwin cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Ray (Tub) McDonald.
A gathering to honor Bob will be held at a later date. Bob’s care has been entrusted to Randall & Roberts Funeral Home.
