Robert (Bob) S. Hill, 81, a resident of Fishers, IN, passed away October 8, 2014. Bob was born to Sgt. Cecil J. Hill and Hallie B. Hill on December 24, 1932, at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis, IN.
Having lived in various states due to his father's military career, Bob graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1950. Bob married Carolyn Cook December 18, 1955 in Indianapolis. He earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1956. Upon graduation, he served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army guided missile program at Fort Bliss, Texas. After returning to civilian life in 1959, Bob obtained his professional license to practice architecture later that year. Bob retired from active practice in May 2003 from Gibraltar Design, Architects and Engineers. Prior to that he was a partner at Everett I. Brown Company for 43 years. Bob was involved in the design and construction of various elementary and secondary education projects throughout Indiana and Illinois.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn; and 2 children, Jeffery (Joani Wilson) Hill of Wilmington, NC and Kristine (Joseph) Myetich of Fishers, IN. Preceding Bob in death was son, Gregory (Janis) Hill. Bob is also survived by brother, Cecil (Margarita) Hill, Jr.; sister, Barbara (Lowell) McGauhey; 5 grandchildren, Ryan Burns, Evan Hill, Kaitlyn Myetich, Allison Myetich, and Jessica Hill; and 2 great-grandchildren. Bob was a great family man and dearly loved his family.
