Robert "Bob" Perry

Robert 'Bob' Lee Perry, 77, Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Carmel St. Vincent Hospital. He was born December 30, 1931 in Indianapolis to Rufus C. and Nellie (McDowell) Perry.
Bob was a mechanical engineer technician for Naval Avionics in Indianapolis for 37 years. After retirement he received his Master Gardener certification from Purdue, and for the last 10 years had been on the seasonal horticulture staff with the Indianapolis Museum of Art. He was a member of John Wesley Free Methodist Church in Indianapolis, where he sang in the choir and was a very active member. He loved woodworking and making furniture for his grandchildren; and was also an avid reader.
Bob and his wife, Jane, had been married for 56 1/2 years.
In addition to his wife, Jane Perry of Indianapolis, he is survived by daughters, Michelle (Michael) O'Conner of Muscatine, IA, & Julie (Todd) Edwards of Fishers; and five grandchildren, Ian & Sean O'Conner; and Teagan, Tynan & Trevin Edwards.
Services will be held at 1:30PM on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, with Rev. Robert Marshall officiating. Friends may call Saturday beginning at 10:00AM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
