Ronald William LaFollette, 71, of Noblesville, passed away on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at St. Vincent Hospital in Carmel, surrounded by his family. He was born on May 8, 1942 to William Arthur and Josephine (Reed) LaFollette in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Ron was married on May 15, 1976 to Phyllis Simpkins from Rushville, Indiana. He is survived by his wife; two sons, John LaFollette of Westfield, and David (Amy) LaFollette of Pendleton; two brothers, Gene (Alice) LaFollette of Carmel, and Gary (Sally) LaFollette of Carmel; sister, Shirley (Peter) Thurston of Noblesville; grandson, Lucas LaFollette of Lebanon; several nieces and nephews; plus great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ron held several jobs in his youth prior to becoming a firefighter in 1970 for the City of Carmel. He retired in January of 1990 as the first paid firefighter in Carmel to retire. He was a member of First Christian Church of Noblesville, and Retired Firefighters Association.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 5, 2013, at First Christian Church of Noblesville, 16377 Herriman Blvd., in Noblesville, with Pastor John Davis officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 4, 2013 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville. Burial will be at Carmel Cemetery in Carmel.
