Ronald Gene McConkey

Ronald Gene McConkey, 79, of Westfield, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at his home. He was born September 24, 1935 to Kenneth and Audra (Powell) McConkey in Indianapolis, Indiana. His parents precede him in death.
Ron owned and operated his own business as a general contractor for 55 years and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was an avid tennis player and lover of many sports, both as a participant and a spectator. He had a fun loving spirit, an exceptional work ethic, and was adored by his many loyal friends. Ron was devoted to and cherished by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn McConkey; daughters, Tammy LeRoy and Terry Lynn (Bob) Hutt; son, Terry Lee (Joan) McConkey; sister, Betty Ann Hendricks; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, November 9, 2014, at The Riviera Club, 5640 N. Illinois Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208.
