Ronald Eugene “Sparky” Sparks , 78, of Dade City, Florida, passed away November 23, 2021 at Rucki Hospice Care Center, Zephyrhills, Florida. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1943.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence E. Sparks and Irene Maddox Sparks; and his sister, Beverly Ann Hodson.
Ron is survived by his wife, Phyllis Switzer Sparks; sons, Kevin (Denise) Sparks of Spring Hill, FL, and Bradley (Vanessa) Sparks of Lebanon, IN; step-children, Scott Rayl of Bringhurst, IN, Lynda Campbell of Cottontown, TN, Steven Rayl of Kempton, IN, Jason Rayl of Murfeesboro, TN, Shane Cooper of Noblesville, IN, and Greg (Shelly) McClain of Indianapolis, IN; 13 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Barbara (Eddie) Miller of Pharas, TX, and Jean (Bob) Eldridge of Arcadia, IN; and many cousins.
Ron worked 50 years as a heavy equipment operator out of the Indianapolis area, enjoyed camping with all of his children, and did a vast amount of traveling.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, with services at 1:00 pm, on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville. Burial will follow at Sutherland Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.
