Roy Frank Williams, (83) went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 15, 2012, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville while surrounded by family. He had an extended illness while residing in Harbour Manor Health and Living facility. He was born August 11, 1929, in Springmill, Arkansas, the third of five children, to Ola (Willmuth) and Franklin Earl Williams.
He attended Cave City schools in Arkansas where he met and married the love of his life, Betty Earlene (Wilson) of Cave City, Arkansas on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1947.
He retired from a career with Firestone Industrial Products Company in 1990 after 40 years of dedicated service and various positions. He enjoyed farming for Bethany Farms in Lafayette for an additional ten years with recently deceased son-in-law, Bob Von Holten of Noblesville. He will be remembered for his steadfast faith in Christ and his love for his family. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church in Anderson, Indiana, where he loved to worship and served in any capacity he was able.
Roy had a wonderful sense of humor, sharing a riddle, joke or funny story whenever he could. His hobbies included art, with a love to draw horses, and also bird watching. He enjoyed traveling and going to family reunions. He was a volunteer for Senior Citizens in Noblesville helping with their recycling program.
In addition to his wife, Earlene, of 64 years, survivors include: daughters, Gail Von Holten and Karen (Larry) Pryor both of Noblesville, & Ginger (Randy) Higginbotham of Sheridan, Indiana; grandchildren, Andy (Carrie) Seymour, Matt (Jessica) Higginbotham, Jennifer (Rod) English, Susan (Micah) Beckwith & Jonathan (Heather) Von Holten all within Hamilton County; great-grandchildren, Caden and Kelli Seymour, Michael & Jacob English, Eva and Owen Higginbotham with one little Higginbotham on the way next May; sister, Zadine Dishongh, of Batesville, Arkansas; many nieces and nephews; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Williams of Slidell, Louisiana; sisters, Betty Allen of Hot Springs, Arkansas & Pearl Williams of Cherokee Village, Arkansas.
Visitation will be Friday, October 19, from 12:30 - 2:30 pm with a funeral service starting at 2:30 pm at Randall and Roberts Funeral Home, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville, with Gary Woodring officiating. Burial will follow at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
