Sawyer Benjamin Hostetler, 8 weeks, of Fishers, died on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. He was born on April 15, 2014 to Michael and Katie (Wood) Hostetler in Indianapolis, Indiana.
He is survived by his loving parents, Michael & Katie Hostetler; brothers, Landon, Cole, and twin brother, Owen Hostetler; maternal grandfather, Brian Wood of Maryland; maternal grandmother, Karen Wood of Maryland; maternal great-grandmother, Joan Wood of Indianapolis; paternal grandparents, Wayne & Tonia Hostetler of New Castle; paternal great-grandfather, Charles Hostetler of New Castle; paternal great-grandmother, Lois Dixon of Anderson; one aunt, two uncles, and a cousin.
He was preceded in death by his paternal great-grandmother, Judy Hostetler of New Castle.
Michael and Katie wish to say, "Thank you to everyone for your love and support during this difficult time for our family. Although his time with us was brief, Sawyer will live on in our hearts. Katie and I chose to proceed with having Sawyer's organs donated to other children in need. We are proud to call our son a hero, and hope that our loss brings a tremendous gift to these other families." Sawyer's legacy will live on through those whose lives he saved through organ and tissue donation, and through his twin bother, Owen.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville, with a graveside service following at 4:00 pm at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
