Shirley Wright

Shirley Wright, of Elwood, IN passed away at Riverview Hospital on July 20, 2020 at the age of 66. 

She was born in Somerset, KY on June 6, 1954 to Paul and Christine (Helm) Lawless.  Shirley’s parents moved to Noblesville when she was 2 years old, where she then spent most of her life. She married Richard Wright Sr. on September 8, 1970. 

Shirley loved her family, friends, and God very much. She also loved her flowers, and being in her garden was one of her favorite places to be.

She worked at Bill’s diner when she was young, as well as a CNA at Noblesville Healthcare (Riverwalk Village) for 13 years.  Most recently, she worked at Stony Creek Elementary, from which she took an early retirement after 10 years.

Shirley is survived by her loving husband of nearly 50 years, Richard Sr.; her children, Richard “Rick” (Jennifer) Wright, James (Dawn) Wright, Julia Wright, Carrie Lawless, and Chris Lawless; as well as 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by brothers, Larry Lawless, Roger Lawless, and Steve Lawless.

In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Jo (Lawless) Upton.

Private services are being handled by Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road in Noblesville, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Burial with graveside service will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville on Wednesday August 12, 2020 at 2:00 pm.
