Siu F. Mak, 84, of Middletown, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. She was born on March 18, 1931 in Guangdong, People's Republic of China.
Siu was educated in China, and came to the United States on May 20, 1985. For nine years, she was co-owner of Golden Dragon Chinese Restaurant in Martinsville. Siu was the matriarch of her family, passionately cared for them, and taught them the values of "family". She also loved gardening, and was a gardener by heart. She was the first Asian farm owner in Middletown, IN.
Siu is survived by her daughters, Yan Ling Mai, and Yan Xia Mai (Terry Dawson); sons, Bing F. Mak (Sui H.), and Andy H. Mak (Susan); grandchildren, Kweisi C. Mak-Dawson, Freedom H. Mak-Dawson, JoAnn Mak, Sau Y. Mak, and Kin M. Mak; and Siu F. Mak's brother, Steven Fung.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Siu C. Mak, on May 12, 2011; her father, Ko Fung; and her mother, Leung Sim.
The family will receive friends who wish to pay their respects on Sunday, December 13, 2015 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, Fishers. A procession will leave the funeral home at 3:00 pm for committal and burial at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
