Stanley Paul Haas , 78, of Noblesville, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Riverview Health in Noblesville. He was born on July 8, 1942 to Rae John and Martha Joan (O'Bryan) Haas in Louisville, Kentucky.
Stan was the eldest of 11 children. He graduated from Fern Creek High School in 1960 and University of Louisville in 1965. Stan met his wife, Anna, on a blind date, and they married in August of 1966. Stan worked for 28 years as a Senior Chemical Engineer for Firestone Industrial Products. In his early years at Firestone, he was able to travel to Germany and Mexico, serving an integral position in the manufacturing of air rides, tire and tank track.
Stan enjoyed the game of golf and was always very excited to cheer on his Louisville Cardinals. He was a very proud father and Papaw that absolutely adored his grandchildren. Stan had an unbelievable amount of patience and loved math, chemistry and driving lessons. He also enjoyed cheering for their sports and sharing every adventure and accomplishment.
Stan was an avid reader of the daily newspaper (always completing the daily crossword puzzle) and a well-informed Noblesville resident. He never met a stranger and was very quick to share his knowledge on a variety of Facebook posts.
Stan volunteered in a variety of positions. His favorite spot was sitting at the information desk at the Riverview Hospital ER. Stan also drove a food donation truck for Third Phase, volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul, and served for many years as a Sacristan and Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Grace Church.
He is survived by his wife, Anna C. (Schneider) Haas; daughter, Denise Kinkead (Eddie); son, Paul Haas (Lisa Ronzo); grandchildren, Collin Kinkead, Annalise Haas, Hannah Kinkead; and 8 siblings.
In addition to his parents, Stan was preceded in death by his sisters, Carol Albers and Bonita Haas.
Private family services will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 with burial at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville. The service may be watched virtually at: https://ologn.org/live
