Stephen J. Timme, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully Friday, July 21, 2023 at The Restoracy of Whitestown, surrounded by family.
Stephen was born October 29, 1942 to Marcellus (M.J.) Timme and Ida (Haltom) Timme in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was a proud alumnus of Cathedral High School, Class of 1960. He attended Purdue University. Before starting his career, he proudly served his country in the Indiana Air National Guard. A natural salesman, Stephen spent the majority of his career in life insurance and financial planning.
Stephen and his wife, Lisa, were married in 1979 and settled in Lebanon. They soon started their family and happily welcomed four children. They enjoyed their mini-farm and the many dogs, cats and farm animals they added over the years.
Stephen was an avid fan of Notre Dame football, the Indianapolis Colts, the Indy 500, and Gonzaga basketball. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He rarely missed a ballgame, gymnastic meet, dance recital, 4-H event or any other activity his children and grandchildren participated in. He enjoyed spending time outdoors including countless hours caring for his acreage and property.
Stephen is survived by his wife, Lisa (Bloomhorst) Timme; daughters, Natalie (Nathan) Hines, Abigail (Lowell) Timme, and Stephanie (Michael) Hall; son, Austin (Cindi) Timme; grandchildren, Madelyn, Patrick, Paige and Penny; brother, John (Jenny) Timme; as well as numerous grandpups, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, Stephen was proceeded in death by his brother, David Timme.
Stephen lead a life dedicated to his family. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his wit, big laugh and smile.
Family and friends are invited to his funeral service Friday, July 28 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, 14598 Oak Ridge Road, Carmel, Indiana 46032. Visitation will be held at 11:00 am, funeral at 12:00 pm immediately followed by a graveside service at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Indianapolis.
