Steve Woods

Stephen 'Steve' George Woods, CPCU, 64, Fishers, IN passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. He was born July 12, 1944 in San Diego, California to the late William H. and Roma Zeta (George) Woods, II.
Steve had worked for Travelers Insurance Company as Agency Manager in Personal Lines Marketing and Sales. He retired in 1994 after 38 years. He attended Hamilton Hills Baptist Church in Fishers and Southeast Baptist Church in Cottonwood Heights, UT.
Undergirded by his strong faith, he was an avid jogger and golfer and enjoyed reading. He also was involved in disaster relief work throughout the nation, which was a ministry that he truly loved. Many lives were brightened by his gift of encouragement and famous one-liners.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis 'Ginny' Woods of Fishers; son, Peter (Rebecca) Woods of Washington State; daughters, Sharon Jensen of California, Erin (Lorin) Lemme of Indianapolis, and Jana (Allen) McCaskill of Fishers; brother, William H. (Linda) Woods III of California; sisters, Denise (Keith) Mayes, and Diane Fay, both of California; grandchildren, Celeste, Orion, Carleigh, Baylie, Christien, Selah, Aria, Kate, & Claire; and several nieces & nephews.
Services will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, March 1, 2009 at Hamilton Hills Baptist Church, 10293 E. 126th St., Fishers, with Pastor Randy Gilmore and Stephen Clough officiating. Burial will be at a later date.
