Sue Crawford, 70, Noblesville, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 9, 1939 in Huntington, Indiana to Wilbur E. and Ruth (Glenn) Petrie.
She received a bachelor's degree from Indiana University. Sue stayed active in things that were important to her including her strong faith in God, her family, service to others, as well as being a dedicated homemaker. She attended the Great Banquet and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Noblesville, where she served as an elder.
She had a passion for playing tennis and was proud to be part of the senior team that went to two National Championship tournaments.
She loved her family! She is survived by her husband, Dick Crawford of Noblesville; two sons, Scott (Linza) Crawford of Greeneville, TN and Steve (Christa) Crawford of Granger, IN; a daughter, Kathy (Joe) Cox of Fishers, IN; a brother, Jack (Molly) Petrie of Midlothian, VA; seven grandchildren, Seth, Alexa, Samuel, Abigail, Ellie, Elliott and Emma; and her dog, Brewster.
Services will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, August 28, 2009 at First Presbyterian Church in Noblesville with Pastor Eric Gale officiating. Friends may call Thursday, August 27, 4:00-8:00PM at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home in Noblesville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation or the National Down Syndrome Society.
