Susan 'Susie' R. Malone, 80, of Sister Bay WI, passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2012 in Springfield, Ill. She was born on December 10, 1931, to William K. and Grace Ransdell.
Susan was born in Jacksonville, IL, grew up on a farm in Woodson, IL and attended William Woods College in Fulton, Mo.
Susan worked as a lighting consultant in Fort Wayne, IN and in Chicago, IL. She especially loved interior design, reading, gardening, cooking, baking, and had a love for animals. Susan and William H. Malone were married and lived in Park Ridge, IL, Fort Wayne, IN, Chicago, IL, and retired together in Sister Bay, WI.
Susan was under the wonderful care of the medical staff at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. She faced her illnesses with a tremendous amount of dignity and determination. She will be remembered for her strength, her quick wit and generosity towards everyone she loved and cared about.
Susan is survived by her husband, William H. Malone; daughter, Sheryl S. Malone; son, William H. Malone; daughter, Barbara A. Malone; son, Timothy C. Malone; three sisters, Joey Schuster, Nancy Montfiletto and Sally Mahlke; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a wonderful companion/friend Morgan, her golden retriever.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Kevin R. Malone.
A memorial service will be held at 7:30 pm on Friday, November 2, 2012 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road in Fishers, with visitation from 6:00PM - 7:30PM immediately prior to the service.
