Suzanne Steffen Geringer, 93, of Noblesville, passed away on August 28, 2015. She was the daughter of Elmer and Marguerite (Maass) Steffen. She attended St. Agnes Academy, St. Mary of the Woods College and Purdue University, graduating from Purdue in 1944. She married her husband, Don Geringer, later that year. She earned her master's degree from Ball State University in 1970. She taught home economics in several Indianapolis Public School locations for over 20 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa and the Guardian Angel Guild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brother, Andy Steffen.
Survivors include her sister, Pauline Shaver; children, Suzy Godich (John), Jeanne Kerr (Ralph), Ellen Geringer (Chris Tarp), Bill Geringer (Nancy) and Mimi Geringer; grandchildren, Megan Evans (Kyle) , Amy Sheller (Adam) and Matt Marcum; and three great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Prairie Lakes Health Campus and Kelli Anderson for their compassionate care during her last years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel in Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral in Indianapolis at 11:00 am, with visitation one hour before the service. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in Indianapolis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
