Sylvia Mae Chaney

Sylvia Mae Chaney, 101, of Noblesville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 4, 2016. She was born on May 31, 1914 to Herbert and Bettie (Hightman) Ellison in Ansted, West Virginia.
Sylvia married George W. Chaney Sr. on February 17, 1937 with whom she spent 66 years. She was a homemaker, seamstress, and avid quilter. Sylvia enjoyed reading her Bible and singing in the church choir. In 2010, she moved to Noblesville to live with her granddaughter's family, Rhonda & Glen Olberding.
Mrs. Chaney was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, and an infant sister. She is survived by two sons, George Jr. "Bill" (Charlotte) Chaney of Washington, WV, and Roy (Julie) Chaney of Greer, SC; seven grandchildren and their spouses; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Sylvia's family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers and staff of Wellbrooke of Westfield and Paradigm Hospice.
Arrangements are being made by Kepner Funeral Home of Wheeling, WV.
