Tammy Lee Kalb, 50, of Fishers peacefully left her earthly home on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 after a year and a half long battle with cancer. She is survived by her father and mother, James V. and Alice L. Gramlich of Pennington, NJ; sister, Michelle S. Schilling; husband, Michael Kalb; daughters, Felicia, Cassandra Kalb; and sons, Ian and Lee Kalb.
Tammy was born in 1961 in Fayetteville, AR; then moved to Greenfield, IN. A few years later she and her family moved to Camberly, Surrey, England for six years. They moved back to Greenfield in 1975 where Tammy attended Greenfield Central High School. There she became an accomplished athlete in softball, tennis, and volleyball. She was a member of the schools' 1979 State Runner Up volleyball team.
After High School, Tammy attended Indiana University of Bloomington and Indianapolis where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She had been employed by Indianapolis Methodist Hospital as a Registered Nurse for the last 25 years of her nursing career.
She was actively involved in coaching and supporting all her children's recreational and school sports teams. She enjoyed reading, professional football, and travel.
Tammy and her husband are the owners and managers of two Honeybaked Ham franchises in NW Indianapolis and Carmel. She was extremely active in many aspects of their business.
She will be fondly remembered by her immediate and extended families as a loving and caring wife and mother, an inspirational mentor and friend to her colleagues, and a fair and caring boss to her employees.
Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 31, 2012, at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, in Fishers. Visitation will be Friday, March 30, 2012 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
