Teresa Marie Hasty, 89, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at home. She was born on May 16, 1924 to Joseph and Mary (Ulm) Graham in Remington, Indiana.
Teresa, together with her husband of 66 years, Edwin, owned and operated the Chicken Inn, in Indianapolis, and Hasty's Restaurant in Lafayette, and through those years she touched many lives. She was a member of Saint Simon the Apostle Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, participated on the Evangelization team, and volunteered at many festivals. She was also a member of Christ Renew's His Parish, and the Goldenaires.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Morgan, Jane Gilliam, Mariann (Jim) Denton; son, Michael Hasty; grandchildren, Donna (Mark), Steven (Erin), Nikki (Paul), Charity (Shane), Scott, Ricky (Shannon), Nicole, & Kourtney; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Edwin J. Hasty in 2011; and 11 brothers & sisters.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, at Saint Simon the Apostle Catholic Church, 8155 Oaklandon Rd in Indianapolis, Father Jim Farrell will officiate. Visitation will be Monday, August 19, 2013 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Rosary service beginning at 7:45 pm at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, Fishers the funeral home. Entombment will be at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery in Indianapolis.
