Thomas "Tom" Richard Powers

Thomas ‘Tom’ Richard Powers, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away at the age of 61 on November 14, 2023. A native of Santa Ana, California, Tom spent his final days in Noblesville, Indiana, surrounded by his wife & the love of his family.

Tom leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion, cherished by his beloved wife of 38 years, Karen Powers; his sons, Steven and Chris (alongside Chris’s wife Mandy); and his granddaughters, Rosemary, Haleigh, and Haidyn. He is also fondly remembered by his brother, Jerry and sister-in-law, Mary; his brother, Danny and sister-in-law, Allison; his brother, Mike; and numerous nieces and nephews. Tom’s deep affection for his family was a foundational aspect of his life, and he held dear the memories of his mother and sister, who predeceased him.

A passionate cook and baker, Tom’s culinary skills brought joy and togetherness to many. His later years were enriched by his love for gardening, fishing, and the serenity of the outdoors. Tom and Karen’s enduring marriage, beginning in 1985, was a testament to their unwavering love and companionship.

Known for his strong work ethic, Tom remained a committed provider for his family, working as an Uber driver even through challenging health issues. His continued efforts to improve his health and return to the workforce reflected his unyielding spirit and love for his family.

Tom’s ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, especially fellow Oklahoma Sooners fans, was a testament to his friendly and open nature. In his final years, he sought a deeper spiritual connection and found solace in his faith.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all the family, friends, and medical professionals who supported Tom during the last five months of his life.

In lieu of flowers or donations, the family suggests honoring Tom’s memory by sharing love and kindness, as he so often did.
