Thomas Prater

Thomas E. Prater , 73, of Sheridan, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021.  He was born on October 16, 1947 to Leonard and Lillian (Boles) Prater in Noblesville, Indiana.

Tom worked for S&W Construction for 30 years.  He was a member of the Noblesville Moose Lodge and the Noblesville American Legion.  Tom never met a stranger and his friends were many.  He loved with his whole heart, and oh, how he loved his family!

Tom also loved NASCAR, a cold beer, his old truck, and Kentucky!  He loved fishing, hunting, and being outdoors.  Tom loved making people laugh and was known for his tall tales.

The light of his life was his daughter, Amber.  Nothing made Tom happier than spending time with her and with his grandkids.

He is survived by his daughter, Amber (James) Copley; sons, Larry Bell and John Bell; 6 grandchildren, Lindsey, Madison, Jayden, Kayla, Kala & Cody; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dave, Leonard Jr., Larry & John Prater; and sister, Mary Cooper.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sam & Annie Boles, wife, Alice Prater; and his sisters, Margaret Favors and Annie Sharp.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, in Noblesville.  Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel.
