Vincent R. Rizzo, Jr

Vincent R. Rizzo, Jr., 72, of Westfield, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Friday, March 7, 2025, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on March 21, 1952, to Vincent R. Rizzo, Sr., and Betty J. Robaska in South Bend, Indiana.

Vince was a remarkably gifted and talented engineer with over 70 patents and 50 years of experience in medical device engineering. If you have gone to the hospital any time soon, you have likely seen some of his products. In 2024, he won a coveted award for the world’s most innovative medical device from the IEEE Thomas Edison Award Power and Engineering Convention.

Vince was highly regarded, not just for his ideas, but for the way he treated people. He was kind, generous, and passionately loved his family, friends, neighbors, and most importantly, Jesus Christ. Vince was always ready to help those around him. He was wise, brilliant, and had an incredible sense of humor. Although we will all be reunited by God one day, his passing will leave an unfillable void in our hearts for the rest of our lives.

Vince married the love of his life in 1981. They had a profound sense of connection and enjoyed aviation, history, cooking, music, and the performing arts. Together, they raised a beautiful family. Vince and Kim loved to travel. They took the trip of a lifetime to Italy, France, and England and visited over 30 basilicas during their pilgrimage.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Kimberly A. (Rassi) Rizzo; sister, Anna (Jeff) Morrett; brother, Christopher (Judy) Rizzo; beloved children, Anthony (Bethany) Rizzo of Daleville, Indiana, Nicholas (Erika) Rizzo of Gilbert, Arizona, and Alissa (Christopher) Urell of Menifee, California; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Elijah, Giovanna, Svetlana, Jacob, Micah, Ezra, Christian, Adalynn, Lucas, and Thomas; and great-grandchildren, Matthias and Malena.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 14598 Oak Ridge Road in Carmel, with Rev. Richard Doerr officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., to the time of service at the church, followed by a luncheon and Celebration of Life in the Parish Life Center. May God’s grace and peace be with you all.
