Virginia M. Cook Hinds, 82, Fort Wayne, passed away Monday, July 28, 2008 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Fort Wayne. She was born August 16, 1925 in East St. Louis, Illinois to Lillian Virginia (Scheffler) and Homer Donovan Plate.
Virginia was a teacher and also worked in the Trust Department at American National Bank in Noblesville. She graduated from South Shore High School in Chicago, Illinois and Depauw University in Green Castle, Indiana. She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church in Ft. Wayne and previously was a member of First United Methodist Church in Noblesville.
She was a past president of Tri-Kappa and was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority at Depauw University. She was active in the Hamilton County Theater Guild.
She is survived by daughters; Cyndi Nemeth of Noblesville and Karen Kinkopf of Ft. Wayne, sister; Beverly Anderson of Alabama, step-sons; John Colglazier, Robert Hinds, and Donovan Hinds Jr., cousin; Virginia Beamon; and five grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Paul Felix Cook and Donovan Hinds.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 1, 2008 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home in Noblesville, with Pastor Jack Wolfe officiating. Friends may call preceding the service from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
