Walter Hughes

Walter Hughes, 77, of Noblesville, passed away on Friday, April 13, 2012 at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin. He was born on May 20, 1934 to James and Hada (Bentley) Hughes in Jenkins, Kentucky.
Walter was union brick mason for over 50 years. He proudly served his country with the United States Army in the 2nd Armored Rifle Battalion, 52nd Infantry as a member of the Honor Guard in Friedberg, Germany. Walter was a member of Bricklayers Union Locals 4 & 5, and International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers. He was also a member of the Southern Baptist Church and had served as a Deacon for several years.
He is survived by son, James "Jim" B. (Debbie) Hughes of Houston, TX; daughter, Marsha (David) Hughes-Gay of Martinsville, IN; brothers, Charles (Betty) Hughes & Noah Hughes; grandchildren, Jason, Jessica, Jasmine, and Evan Hughes & Elizabeth (Goeff) Miller; and great-grandchild, Devin Glenn.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Parker Hughes; and brother, Ralph Hughes.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville. Visitation will be Monday, April 16, 2012 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
