Wanda Essex

Wanda H. Essex, 96, of Westfield, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Parkwood Health Care Center in Lebanon. She was born on June 28, 1916 to Frank and Veva (Saylor) Newby in Hamilton County, Indiana.
Wanda was a 1935 graduate of Westfield High School and a member of Central Christian Church in Carmel. She and her husband, John were owners of Camp Nothingmuchere in Westfield. She was the secretary for the Eagle Creek Cemetery Association; was a former scout Den Mother; and a former member of No-Wa-Da Home Ec Club.
She is survived by daughter, Charlene Cannaday; sons, Kay E. (Marlene) Essex, Kurt C. (Janis) Essex & Kent T. Essex; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Essex, who passed away in March 2000; and son-in-law, Dale Cannaday.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 3, 2013, at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am immediately prior to the service. Burial will be at Eagle Creek Cemetery in Westfield.
